Angela Desmond, Chief of Staff to Chairman Mark W. Olson
Prior to joining the PCAOB in September 2006, Ms. Desmond was a member of the Federal Reserve Board’s official staff. She had responsibility for areas relating to the Federal Reserve’s development and implementation of an enterprise risk management program, engendering improvements to the resilience of the U.S. financial system and the Critical Infrastructure, as well as policy and supervisory initiatives relating to futures commission merchants, investment advisors, and securities and insurance activities of banks, more generally. Ms. Desmond also was active in coordinating business continuity and Pandemic planning efforts at the Federal Reserve, federal financial agencies, and the financial sector. She participated in several work groups at the Joint Forum and Joint Stability Forum, and in outreach to foreign central banks and regulatory authorities on behalf of the International Monetary Fund.
Ms. Desmond is the former General Counsel of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board and was a Branch Chief at the Securities and Exchange Commission. She received her Juris Doctor from the American University Washington College of Law, where she was an editor of the law review.
